While r279 is a stable legacy version, newer versions of Windows 10 or Windows 11 sometimes prefer Microsoft Store versions of the Realtek Audio Console. If you install this .exe and the audio console doesn't open, you may need to download the UAD (Universal Audio Driver) version or the app from the Microsoft Store. However, for older boards and Windows 7/8/10 setups, r279 remains a legendary lifesaver.
